To find out more about the potential of life in outer space, we need to go underground: Mars Habitat Challenge is looking for pioneering startups to develop solutions and business models that help create a self-sustaining habitat on Mars or other planets. To do that, the startups will collaborate with Hagerbach Test Gallery, a network of tunnels and caverns that create the ideal underground research laboratory and training base for innovative projects based on a circular economy.

Ten selected startups will pitch their startup project on 19 May 2021 in front of a jury of high-ranking industry experts from Hagerbach Test Gallery, Amberg Group, Implenia, Sika, ACO Group, MBCC Group, ANDRITZ, Mission Earth First, SCAUT - Swiss Center of Applied Underground Technologies, THE HUS.institute, VSH Inc. The five winners will showcase their startup on 18 June 2021 at the Hagerbach Test Gallery NXT50 event, celebrating its 50th birthday and win a proof of concept case study.
