New Bözberg tunnel (1) – more freight carried by rail

The new 2.7 km-long double-track tunnel through the Bözberg is the largest construction site of the Swiss Railway on the 4-metre corridor between Basel and Chiasso. This project aims to transfer the freight crossing the Alps from road to rail.

Amberg makes the case for BIM

On 29 November 2017 contractor Implenia broke through on the 2.7km-long Bözberg tunnel which runs between its southern portal at Schinznach-Dorf to a northern one near to Effingen in Switzerland.

Amberg Engineering are assisting Stockholm with the extension of its metro, the so-called Tunnelbana. Using BIM, Amberg enhanced its communication by making it more direct and clear. So e-mail traffic in the project team dropped by 60% increasing efficiency considerably.
