ITA WTC2026 in Montréal brought together industry leaders, innovators, researchers, and professionals from around the world under the theme “Connecting Communities Through Underground Infrastructure.”

The congress provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking discussions on the future of underground infrastructure and the growing importance of underground spaces in supporting sustainable and resilient communities.

Amberg Engineering was proud to take part in this outstanding event and to contribute to the technical programme, particularly in discussions around the use of underground spaces and urban connectivity. These sessions featured inspiring presentations and innovative concepts for the development and utilisation of underground environments, including a proposed layout for a future underground scientific facility.

The Amberg Engineering team experienced a dynamic and engaging week at the ITA World Tunnel Congress 2026 (WTC2026). Our exhibition stand welcomed many visitors and enabled valuable exchanges across Amberg Engineering, Amberg Technologies, and the VersuchsStollen Hagerbach (VSH – The Underground Future Lab). It was a pleasure connecting with colleagues, partners, and new contacts throughout the event.

A highlight of the programme was a well-attended presentation by Patricia Lamas on the Einstein project, alongside our active contribution to the Young Professionals “Think Deep” session, where we participated in round table discussions and shared input statements on key topics shaping the future of the industry. In addition, team members were engaged across multiple ITA-related functions throughout the congress, including presentations, session chairing, and workshop facilitation.
