Amberg Technologies and Leica Geosystems Expand Collaboration to Enhance Rail and Tunnel Workflows

Amberg Technologies and Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, are excited to announce the expansion of their long-standing collaboration, aimed at delivering more connected rail and tunnel workflows that reduce manual work and provide customers with faster access to information. This enhanced partnership will leverage closer research and development cooperation, deeper software integration, and improved connectivity between their cloud platforms, enabling seamless data transfer from field measurement to engineering and project delivery.

Combining the measurement expertise of Leica Geosystems with the rail and tunnel know-how of Amberg Technologies, the two companies are set to bring forth a suite of capabilities that have been honed over more than two decades of collaboration on rail and tunnel measurement systems. A recent highlight of this partnership is the successful integration of Leica Geosystems' AI-powered TS20 robotic total station into Amberg Rail and Amberg Tunnel software, showcasing the tangible benefits of their combined innovations.

At the heart of this collaboration is a commitment to customer flexibility. Both companies will continue to develop and maintain their respective portfolios, allowing customers to mix and match solutions from both Amberg Technologies and Leica Geosystems. This approach enables clients to tailor workflows that best suit their project needs, from initial field capture through to final office deliverables.
“This expanded collaboration reflects our dedication to providing our customers with the most advanced and efficient solutions possible,” said Johannes Mueller, CEO of Amberg Technologies. “By working more closely together, we can ensure that our customers benefit from the latest innovations in rail and tunnel measurement.”

Moritz Lauwiner, President of Hexagon’s Geomatics Division, added, “Our customers face more data and tighter deadlines, and that shouldn't mean more complexity. Through our trusted partnership with Amberg Technologies, rail and tunnel teams get solutions designed to fit together, so they can focus on the decisions that move a project forward faster. As projects grow more demanding, we will keep investing in closer integration, both in our technology and in how we serve customers together.”
