Brenner Base Tunnel: Site visit by Amberg Engineering

On 18.05.2018 a team of engineers from Amberg Engineering visited the construction lot "H33 Tulfes Pfons" of the Brenner base tunnel.

The exploratory tunnel driven by a tunnel boring machine (TBM), the blast driven emergency stop and the interior work in the connecting tunnels of the Brenner base tunnel were visited.

The tour was very interesting, especially because Amberg Engineering (in an engineering consortium) was commissioned with the tender and executive design for the following construction lot "H41 Sillschlucht Pfons".

With the TBM mentioned above, approx. 10 km have been driven so far and, in the process, a new world record was set: 61 metres of driving performance within 24 hours. Find more information on this topic at:
